Tomorrow evening we're headed down south of the border immediately after we get home from work. We're going to pick up Shelley's supervisor (Jennette), who will ride with us, because it's her house that we're be guesting at down in Mexico.

We're going down to ride in the 17th Annual Spring Rosarito - Ensenada Fun Ride, a 50-mile trek on paved roads close to the sea in Baja California.

According to the brochure, the first 20 miles of the course go over rolling hills along the ocean, then we get to El Tigre (a two-mile-long hill that climbs 800 feet in that distance), then we have a mesa for 8 miles of more gentle hills but a couple miles inland, and then we go down for 8 miles, and then flat for 10 miles into town for the fiesta at the end.

Jennette and her family won't be cycling with us, but they will assist with our car. Another person from Shelley's office will ride the route with us, however, but probably not stay with us. She's done the ride before, and has a friend who trains Trek Tours guides so I'm going to talk to her (the friend, who also will be there) and learn what it takes to get such a job.

Should be fun!
