With bated breath and cautious optimism we drove down to Santa Monica to hang out with Kenny, Jenn, and Steven for company in watching the election results trickle in. At this point it looks like our country's going to head further toward Hell.

Sigh.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure that I mentioned how many times people brought up the subject of our president while I was abroad this summer. I guess I wanted to block it out. NO ONE I met over there liked Bush. Of course they couldn't make much of a case with me or have a decent argument because I felt the same way.

Provided Bush goes on to win tonight, and it seems he will, the rift of non-understanding will only grow. Many people abroad simply have no idea why America is re-electing him. Same goes for me. At least my adopted country of California hasn't let me down.

At least two good things should come out of tonight: 1) the markets should settle down and go up; 2) it will be Bush's last term in office.
