We've had an unbelievable amount of rain here this past week, and more will come tonight. Waves of airborne water, dense spells of fog, thunderbolts and lightening, very, very frightening!

The cement-bound rivers and streams in the area are raging torrents where they are normally dry. One I saw from the train this morning looks dangerously close to overflowing its channel. With another 1.5 inches predicted for tonight, I wonder whether they will breach in the next day or so, after all the water gets into the system.

Here's a photo indicating the amount of the rain we've had the past couple days. We emptied it and expect that it will fill up again tonight and tomorrow!

This cat litter box is 16x13x8 inches.

Here's a photo from a Yahoo! news page showing some of the results:

Despite other intentions (such as working on panos and visiting the natural history museum), I played WoW for about 10 hours on Saturday and another 14 on Sunday. Have I mentioned that it's fun?

And when not playing WoW of this weekend, I was playing boardgames, most of them new from Xmas. These include Alhambra, Fresh Fish, Bootleggers, and Lawless. We also got some late Xmas games from Larry and crew, which include Dos Rios, War of the Ring, and Vinci.

For this weekend, at least, life is gaming and gaming is life.

At least it's dry.
