According to a new study, people in LA average 260 cell phone calls a month, or about 9 a day. Given my low use, maybe one call a week, I reckon someone out there's really feeding the phone company to balance me out. Sheesh.

The same article says that "California is also about to pass a ban on hand-held cell phones while driving that would likely cut cell-phone use by car-bound Angelenos dramatically when it takes effect in 2008."

Given all the other studies that show cell phone use to be at least as dangerous as drunk driving, I think that's too far away (how many people have to die or be maimed in the meantime?), but at least it's something to look forward to. I do wish people would not talk on cells while driving. I don't want to get smashed up while cycling or driving Kelley 'round.
