A glorious day in Southern California today! Cool, clear, partly cloudy, breezy. Superb.

We had a record turn-out of ten people at lunchtime ultimate Frisbee today, including two Japanese girls who came over from some much larger group of like-dressed Japanese kids having lunch and doing some sort outward-bound group activities.

Neither of these two guests spoke English nor knew the rules to ultimate, but through gestures and playing they came to understand more of each, and had a good time running around with us tossing and catching the disc.

My bike ride home - with a great tailwind - went quickly and made for the perfect start to my last weekend of 41ishness.
