Got the new Macintosh OS, 10.5 (called Leopard) installed this weekend. No problems with it really: just needed to update or re-install a couple minor things like the wireless keyboard and mouse drivers, a VPN client for connecting securely to campus, and adjust a graphic setting in World or Warcraft.

For me it does not offer much in term of functionality, at least so far, although I'm looking forward to the new built-in system backup software called Time Machine. If that lives up to its promise the cost and effort will be worth it just for that application.

Back to gaming at Larry's on Saturday, after a month or so off. We played a new four-player game called Antiquity, from the makers of Roads & Boats. It sports a cool look and feel, but I'd relegate it to the once-a-year category because it's, hmmm, on the higher end of complexity and goes too far toward the min-max end of the spectrum. For some reason it just doesn't grab me like some of our other games.

Back to volleyball this Sunday, too, after several months away. And a grand time: a full court, good play, fun people. At this point I plan to resume going weekly.
