Still waiting for a response to our counter-offer, due two minutes ago, so not looking too good on that front. However, apparently we have a second offer coming in today, unrelated to the current one.

But then... EARTHQUAKE!

Apparently a ~~5.8~~ 5.4 hit just a few minutes ago out in Chino Hills, about an hour east of our house.

It sounds unlikely that our house would be damaged, although I'm quite sure we would have felt it. We need to wait for our caretaker or agent to confirm a lack of damage though.

Worse, it scares people and some might leave, making their own homes available. Assuming our house didn't suffer any damage we're okay, but if it did we'll have to somehow get repairs done long-distance.

Sigh.

Our friends there are checking in saying no problems with them, which is good news.
