A partial solar eclipse was visible in most of the Western United States this evening. I watched it while eating pizza. Sunlight was coming through the vertical slits on the blinds in the west-facing windows at the restaurant, and little crescent Suns were visible on the floor, up against the seat, and on Greg's shirt. I also saw little eclipsed Suns projected on the ground through leaves on a tree. Needless to say, this makes me quite happy. I spent part of the morning setting up a telescope so another faculty member could project the eclipse for his class tonight, but I think I prefer it the simpler way.

On a completely different note, I just got back from the gym, where I was working out to Radiohead's "OK Computer". I'm feeling very relaxed and mellow now. Night-night.
