Well, I'm back to work. I've survived the first two days of school. The new kids seem overanxious this semester - they were highlighting my syllabus! So far, they seem like a good bunch, and I haven't humiliated myself yet. There's a few days left in the week, though.

A couple of students I have to watch:

  • The chick in lab today who was being obnoxious to her lab partner. Overcompensating for lack of abilities in a science, I'd wager. She has already told me that she has a disability in math. Should be interesting.
  • The chick who showed up to lecture late today and asked from the doorway, "Is this astrology?" I smiled and nodded while saying astronomy, trying to be gentle. The rest of the class snickered loudly. Not that most of them get the name right, either.
  • The guy who stated as his reason for taking the course: "to learn as much as I can so that I can argue Creation Science better, because none of the Big Bang stuff could have possibly happened."

I wonder what the third day of class shall bring?
