Years of bad posture, heavy backpacks, computer work, and grading have taken their toll on my neck. A massage therapist described my shoulder muscles as feeling like bone. My doctor finally sent me to a physical therapist, who referred to my shoulder muscles as feeling like granite. Not very polite, but very descriptive.

As most of you reading this journal entry are probably sitting in the same position that has landed me in this predicament, I have posted the stretching exercises that my physical therapist has recommended for me. I've only been doing them for a few days, and I'm already seeing some benefits.

Now, dislodge yourself from your computer and move a bit! It's good for you!
