We went to see The Incredibles this weekend. Fun movie, but no Episode III trailer! I must have looked really disappointed because Greg cuddled me and went with me to get cheeseburgers after the movie.

One of my older students, who reminds me of my father, made some homemade chocolate walnut fudge for me. My dad used to make a very similar fudge, and I hadn't eaten any since my dad died. It was yummy fudge, but it made me sad, you know?

Yesterday was "Science Day", spent teaching 400 elementary school kids how to make comets in a bowl and to light bulbs with batteries and wires. I asked one of my students to volunteer - she's a science-phobe, but wants to be an elementary school teacher. At the end of the day, she said that she now understands that science doesn't need to be complicated and that it can be fun. Mission accomplished.

Found out tonight that one of my students, whom I don't know very well, attempted suicide earlier in the week. It didn't sound like it was his first attempt, and he's at a treatment center now. I hope that he gets the assistance he needs to finally conquer his depression.

I'm very glad to have Thursday off of work.
