I know I'm tired when, while doing crunches at the gym, I start thinking about how comfy the mat is and how I could just put my head down and be all cozy and fall asleep.

Last week went by so fast. I spent the first three days substituting for a physics instructor. In class at 7 am, out of class at 4 pm, with just a few 15 minute breaks. Physics lab, physics lecture, different physics lecture, different physics lab, all in a row. Whew! As tiring as it was, I always enjoy substituting. Despite my shyness, I like to meet new students, have fun with them, pick on them...couldn't have been too bad, though. Many of them were happy to hear that I would be their physics prof in the fall. Always nice to see friendly faces on the first day of class.

I lost another pound! That brings me to having lost 22.5% since last August! It made me quite happy, considering that this past week I gave into an In-N-Out urge, chinese food, cake, ice cream...woo!

Greg and I saw "Batman Begins", the first Batman movie that didn't make me want to scream at how bad it was. I thought Christian Bale did a great job, as did Michael Caine and Gary Oldman. Liam Neeson seemed like he was Qui-Gon, but teaching his padawan about the Dark Side. More my fault than his - geek!

Thanks to the intrepid efforts of my Kirsten and Aaron, we now have NIN tickets for the concert at the Hollywood Bowl on October 1. I just need to decide how many more shows I plan on seeing. :) Definitely something to look forward to.

Other things to look forward to: Olympos by Dan Simmons - out at the end of this month! I'll be curling up with this the day it's released. Also Across the Wall: A Tale of the Abhorsen and Other Stories by Garth Nix - beginning of July! I'm looking forward to reading more in the universe of Sabriel and Lirael.
