As mentioned in yesterday's post (which actually ended up being posted today because of some weird Journalscape difficulties from last night), this week is spring break around here. People are headed off to the beach, or are planning some wonderful outdoorsy activities for the coming week.

Some plans may be changing. Instead of hiking, there may be some skiing. The sky just opened up and began to dump snow, which is accumulating. It's beautiful to watch, but also means we're eating something a lot warmer for dinner than I had originally planned.

The thing is, it's not uncommon for stuff like this to happen around here. This is Idaho, after all.

I remember several years ago when Rice and I were driving to Salt Lake to catch a plane to Tucson for spring break when an actual blizzard kicked in, causing us to get in a car accident because some people are really stupid. (No matter what, never, ever, ever stop in the middle of the interstate over a patch of ice. I thought this was fairly obvious... but I digress.)

Anyway. It doesn't feel so much like spring break anymore....
