Well, I've been trying to catch up with people individually via email or phone . . . I like writing this blog, and I can see from the hit counter that people are reading - but I miss getting email from people.

I'm being sort of semi-successful in this endeavor - only semi, because I'm up to my eyeballs with work at the moment. Trying to leave town is as overwhelming as ever; I figure I need to get caught up this week and plan for the week when I get back and am too jetlagged to deal with the world . . . I'm rapidly slipping into that giddy, devil-may-care state where I think, "Oh, hell. In 52 hours I'm going to be on a plane across the ocean, so who cares about this work??" That's always a dangerous state of mind for me! Must focus! Must focus!!

So I'm focusing on our theatre plans . . . We're going to see a production of Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, which sounds nice and light and funny . . . I can't wait, I can't wait!! And the Tower of London, and the changing of the guard (maybe; apparently they only change the guard on even-numbered days in March, and not on Sunday . . . and we leave for Leeds on Tuesday the 8th . . . ), and the V&A (it's free!! Wooohooooo!!!), and high tea, and time with Steph and Patrick, and possibly York, and, and, and, and . . . !!!

Oh, well, 'nuff of this. I have to get back to reality and the 12" of snow and the 12' of papers I must grade before I leave . . . I managed to get the car stuck this morning as I drove into a drift at the back of my (very skimpy and questionable) parking space, so I have that to deal with before I go home . . . I do have the x-c skis in the car, and perhaps between my class, which ends at 1:30, and my meeting, which begins at 4, I'll [a] deal with the car, and [b] go skiing at Groesbeck Golf Course, which is very close to downtown . . . stay tuned!
