Well, it was certainly difficult to drag myself out of bed this morning . . . The alarm was set for 6:15 but I kept hitting the snooze until nearly 7:00. I think the mega-walk that Wally and I took last night had something to do with that. We ended up being out for an hour and a half; this on a day when I'd taken him for a short walk in the morning and also managed (a short) bike ride (to UM Hospitals, where Louise's father was admitted yesterday).

The sleep/exercise conundrum is always difficult to solve during the school year. Come summer, I'll get plenty of sleep, no matter how much exercise I get. In the winter, though, I'm always Running on Empty to some degree or another. I expect this will change in a few years, when I no longer have to take Emma to school.

Ah, well. The weekend is indeed coming - and of course, then there will be only four more weekends between me and summer . . . And tonight I'm having dinner with Martin and Randy, which will be fun. I just learned that Jeff will be there, too, which pleases me enormously. I haven't seen Jeff in months. We've been friends since we were 18, and have definitely reached the point where that fact alone is enough to carry the relationship . . . We're going to nail down the dates for the San Francisco trip tonight, I hope.

And despite my being tired, the walks are doing me good! My muscles feel a lot more relaxed, and I feel healther all around.

Well, I better go get some work done, I guess; no point in getting to work so early if I don't actually work once I'm here . . .
