Well, in the Frustration Department: My Travelzoo newsletter arrived today. It included links for a round-trip price of $359 to Manchester, England in April or May, and for a 6-night stay in Paris in April or May for $659 RT from Detroit. (The email came hours ago and I still haven't bought tickets!!) Aaarrrggghhh!! In a few years, when kids are not in school at our house, when I see specials like that, I'm going to bite. I can hardly stand the thought of giving up a week in Paris . . .

And in the Funny 'Cuz It's True (I Hope) department, we have Dr. Mercola's blog. In Should You Eat Chocolate?, Dr. M. concludes that, why, yes, you should. And in the article, Lunatic Recommendations for Statin Drug Use, he talks about a study which recommends that everyone with Type 2 diabetes take statin drugs. The drug companies must be eating this up, since Type 2 diabetes is so dramatically on the rise in the US.

On a related note, this morning I attended a colleague's presentation on Cuba. She talked extensively about the farming and agriculture (all organic) and wonderful fresh food she found there. As a side note, she mentioned that she has had cancer twice. One time, she went to Cuba while she had a tumor; they measured the tumor before she left, and when she came back, they measured again and the tumor was indiscernible. She put it down to the additive-free food . . . It certainly gives one pause. Maybe it's time to start 'meat gardening,' as Russ and Anne do . . .
