Don't believe me? Check it out.

I'm feeling totally depressed about gas prices, and totally depressed about the situation in NOLA, but totally upbeat about my classes. The FY comp classes went astoundingly well this week - I think they're off to a rip-roaring start. Lots of good discussion and reading and thinking in those rooms. I know the papers won't reflect it - but we have a surfeit of goodwill to carry us through the students' inevitable disappointment . . .

I've spent most of the day squaring away the next few weeks in the online bizcomm class. I've finished what I needed to do, but it took wa-aaay longer than I'd anticipated, alas. This means either that [a] I will have to devote much more of my weekend than I'd planned to getting ahead of the game, or [b] by the end of the weekend I will not be as ahead of the game as I had hoped. I don't know how it's going to go, to be honest. I never made it to the pool today - and this is the last pool weekend we've got. Perhaps I will try to work like crazy before noon and after 7 pm tomorrow (today, actually, since it's after midnight) and Monday . . . I did manage to lay up the week's groceries today, so at least that chore is off the docket.

We'll see what I decide to do . . . stay tuned for further reports . . .
