Well, I called the kind people at School B yesterday, and bowed out of my second interview. I'm not sure if this was more or less polite than going through the motions - but over the last month it's just become clear that from a financial standpoint, taking that job isn't really going to be an option. I didn't want to take up any more of the committee's time if ultimately I was going to have to turn them down anyway. I think we've made the best decision, on the whole, and I know that there will be lots of unanticipated pleasures once we move, but nonetheless, I didn't want to have to make any decision at all, so while I'm relieved, I'm not exactly elated.

Mostly, I'm feeling daunted. Now we're all of a sudden into Incredibly Busy Mode, as we really have to get the house on the market soon. And of course, this turn of events means that whatever else is going on this summer, we'll be spending most of it moving - either getting ready to move, actually moving, or unpacking. Doesn't sound too restful to me, frankly; I'm really regretting having piled on those two part-time jobs.

Ah, well. Speaking of those jobs . . . I'd better get to them.
