Oh boy, talk about killing your darlings. They basically axed 90% of the how of our thesis from the presentation, only keeping the what. Which makes sense, because all the technical details are probably rather boring and confusing to someone who hasn't worked on this project. But jeez, all those months of coding algorithms and new techniques, and we don't get to talk about how we did it. Not to mention all the hours spent this week carefully crafting animated diagrams to explain these algorithms. But hey, we'll get to write about all that stuff in the thesis text. Random quotes from the meeting: "You don't have to mention your program was slow, you coded it in java." "Whoa, Venus on LSD." "Ugh, get that the hell out of here! There's no room for UML in graphics!" (referring to a UML collaboration diagram) Here's a sneak thesis preview, the videos used in our presentation. I'm not going to link to them from the thesis site until after the presentation, to keep the surprise effect. EDIT: took them offline because they were taking up too much space on the server. Here's a bumpy Venus to make up for it: ![]() Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
