  • I still can't believe that Only Fools and Horses won Britain's Best Sitcom. I don't think I've ever seen a less funny sitcom, including stupid American remakes of British sitcoms.

  • Thesis presentation tomorrow. It's only a trial run so no big pressure but there's still a bit of nerves.

  • Went to see Deep Blue earlier this week. It's a really amazing documentary/tone poem about the oceans, filled with surreal, beautiful images but also strong, dramatic scenes. Neato.

  • I got my hands on audio versions of the five Harry Potter books last week. I burned the first two on a cd-rom in 3 minute chunks and now I've been listening to them on my way to and from campus. Can't say I've been gripped with Harry Potter fever yet, though it's definitely an enjoyable story so far. But the whole audio book thing is just amazing. I admit to a bit of snobbery towards audio books before, as my only experience with them were mother goose fairy tales for toddlers but these things are great! The version I have of the first book is read by Stephen Fry and it's amazing how much detail and nuances he adds to the story.

  • Two cool trailers were recently added to Apple's trailer page. The Last Shot and Coffee and Cigarettes look like fun movies. I especially liked the two exchanges between Iggy Pop and Tom Waits. Of course, to compensate, they also put up a new trailer for the abysmal looking Garfield movie.

  • It looks like the Lizard webcomic is definitely finished. Damn. I've always liked Dave's stuff and I thought Lizard was his best output yet as the format enforced some restrictions on him that defused a lot of his destructive/experimental tendencies towards his own art (not completely of course, just look at the huge WARNING: MAY CAUSE BORDEOM!)
