Anya and I got really headachey and sick feeling about 15 minutes south of the reunion. I couldn't tell if it was from the allergies or if it was the wavey drive away from the reunion, or maybe a combination of both. But Anya and I camped out in a Kroger parking lot, partaking of OTC's and quick power naps in the car. The Viking in me said that we must push on, so we drove. And as we left Ohio, I started feeling a little bit better, so I'm thinking that my temporary headache was an allergies type of thing.

Despite getting a late start, we made it all the way from Clarksville, Ohio to just west of Memphis. We stayed at a ratty Hotel 6 just beyond the Tennessee border.

Anya went to the room to crash, while I walked to the local waffle house to grab a bite to eat. I hadn't been in a waffle house like this in quite a while. Grease was almost literally a side item on the menu. Being almost 12:30 at night when I finally ate, I decided to opt out of the big bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy meal and instead dine on some grits, biscuits, and egg. The grits tasted like the butter popcorn that is served at big movie houses. Man oh man, was it tasty though.

Anya and I left moderately early the next morning and made it back to Denton in the early evening. We were both exhausted and ready to sleep in our own beds for a change. Despite being glad to be home, I really felt a negative feeling that usually comes at the end of fun vacations. It's a bittersweet feeling of being glad to be home, yet feeling sad that the trip isn't going on anymore.

I guess that feeling turns into a sort of anticipation for the next reunion, which will hopefully come sometime in the near future.

I really had a great trip. I can't wait for the next one.
