Haven't posted in a long time. Not really much going on in the wide world of Matt. My school year thus far has been really uneventful. I wrote my first poem for my poetry class, which we will "workshop" today in a few hours. I've never written any poetry that anyone other than my friends or family has read, so it will be interesting to hear their reaction. If all goes well, I will post my poem on this very site.

I have not seen any good movies recently. I would review "Jeepers Creepers 2," but I don't want to take away any time from my solitaire playing. The movie was really bad, but I did have a GREAT time at the movie mainly because the group that I saw the movie with picked apart the entire movie for two hours. Some movies are just so pulpy, that there isn't much merit in taking it too seriously and instead turns into a laugh-a-thon.

Oh, I did see "Freaky Friday." I will review that movie since I absolutely loved it. It was a really funny and all around good movie. That should be coming shortly.

I've been living a minimalist life recently. Since I got back my cholesterol results, I've been trying to eat more basic, good for you types of foods. Gone are the days of fast food and french fries, hello are the days of grilled chicken breast sandwiches and salads. But for some reason, it seems as if this minimalism and cutting the fat out of my diet has seeped into my spending habits as well. I can not tell you the last time I purchased a cd or a dvd. I have bought a couple of posters, but since those are so cheap, they don't really count. I like getting back to the basics of living a good life. I seem to be my happiest when I'm not buying new material possessions. Or maybe it's just a faze. Who knows? Knowing myself, I'll probably go out and splurge sometime and get all the stuff that I haven't been getting recently.

I've been really "blah" recently. I don't know if maybe I have a low energy level or what, but I usually don't like doing anything but watch television. Maybe it's routine. Maybe it's something else. With fall coming around, I hope to get outside more often.

Speaking of, it is almost uncanny how once the calendar hits September 1st, the temperature starts to drop. The last day of August will usually hover around 105. But as soon as September hits, BOOM, high of 90. I like September. September to me is always that in-between stage where it isn't blistering hot anymore, but it sure isn't cool just yet. In another month or so, it'll be sleep with the window open type of weather.

That's about all I'll write now for an update. Hopefully the words keep coming.

matt out
