Went to bed at 10:00 o'clock last night which is uber-early for me. Although I woke up at 8:30 this morning, I'm still dead tired. I could probably go home right now and sleep for the rest of the day without too much effort. I've been sleeping a lot recently. I guess being tired is what happens when your mind is running at 110 miles an hour.

I spoke to a personal counsellor here at UNT yesterday. It's the first time I've ever spoken to a trained counsellor before, and I'm glad that I went. Just having a perfect stranger sit and listen to me for 50 minutes was really relieving to me. I've spoken a lot to different family members, friends, and now strangers. And the more I talk through my shit with other people, the more I realize that everything I'm going through is perfectly normal. I feel that I've taken, and continue to take positive steps forward. So that feels good.

I'm still not writing though. I haven't had the will power to sit down and get thoughts out on paper. I do have a story running around my brain that I think is finally going to make it to paper (keyboard). Hopefully I don't end up calling myself a liar few weeks down the road when nothing's written. ;-)

Elliott Smith is a godsend. That's all I'm going to say about that. All three of his cd's are in my changer right now. When I'm just sitting around my place, they're on continuous loops with each other. I can't wait for his new cd to come out later this spring. It'll be sad knowing that it will be his last and that a great poet/songwriter is no more. I still have his albums though if I want to reminisce.

Other than that, I'm very much just going through the motions right now.

On the positive side of things, I'm having lots of good friends time. I'm going to be hanging out with my friend John this Thursday night. We're both on the geeky side of the spectrum, so we'll probably spend most of Thursday playing the new "Ninja Gaiden" game for X-Box. And there are tentative plans for a possible "Star Wars" screening on Saturday night. That's still tentative though, so we'll see how that pans out.

I gotta go get some lunch, and then off to astronomy.

matt out
