I wonder if "The Passion of the Christ" is going to see an uptick in ticket sales this coming up Easter Holiday. Is it unethical of New Market Films to use the religious aspect of the Easter holiday to market "The Passion of the Christ?"

I think that it is somewhat unethical for people to use a religious holiday to line their own pockets, in the guise of getting the "good word" out. Not that I think that Mel Gibson's movie is "the good word."

For once, I'd like to see a movie about Jesus, for people like me out there. I want to see a movie where Jesus is protrayed as just this really revolutionary guy, but not the son of God in the traditional sense.

In my view, Jesus was just this guy who taught his disciples a new way of life, but not a guy who could raise the dead and give sight to the blind. Jesus to me was more akin to a Gandhi, than to the walking and breathing manifestation of God here on earth. The movie that I'd like to see would be more akin to "Gandhi" the movie than to "The Greatest Story Ever Told."

I want to see a movie where this normal, average guy dedicates his life to spreading the message of peace and love.

I guess the main difficulty in a movie like this would be cutting out all of the deeply religious aspects of Jesus' life. The only thing that people really know about Jesus is taken from the Bible, where Jesus says he's the son of God. So how could there be a movie about this preacher without religion in it? hmmm...who knows?

I doubt a movie like that would ever get made. The powers that be in the religious community would fight tooth and nail to prevent a movie like that from ever getting made.
