I had a pretty good weekend. My office scheduled all of my hours for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, giving me Friday off. And since I don't have classes on Monday or Friday, I kind of lucked out in that every weekend is a three-day weekend. And since I don't have class on Monday, all I have to worry about is work, which makes my Sunday nights all the more enjoyable and sans homework. But I will be making better use of my time since my Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday schedule is pretty hectic now. I have two, three-hour classes on Wednesday. It's not all that bad really, but it's a bit tiring on the ol' bum. But like I said, the Monday and Friday make up for that...

----------------------------------------------------------

Jace, Anne, and I saw "Sideways" on Friday night. All I can say is "wow." That was a heck of a movie. Director Alexander Payne has got "the touch." He really knows how to make good movies.

-tangent-

There's this creepy woman in my office who is waiting for an advisor by standing right in the middle of the hallway. Even though she's not looking *at* me, it feels as if she's breathing down my neck. Thank god the advisor just took her back

-tangent over-

"Sideways" was an excellent movie, barely beating out "The Aviator" as my favorite of the New Year.

Paul Giamatti was excellent (as always) in the role. There have really been some great performances this year. I honestly don't care if Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Paul Giamatti, or any other number of actors get the Oscar. This trully is a year of apples and oranges.

---------------------------------------------------------

"Sideways" may be the most "blue-state" movie I've ever seen. Maybe this year, I'll rank my movies in order of blue-state/red-state'ness.

Since "Sideways" is about two bachelors going on a WINE TASTING in Northern California, this has to rank in the Blue State category. Not to say that Red-Staters don't enjoy a good wine tasting, but the average common folk of Alabama aren't exactly rushing out to see this movie in the same way that they see...

"Assault on Precinct 13."

Some movies are both. "Meet the Fockers" has something for everyone, although it definitely leans more blue than red.

more to come later..........
