At nearly the same time I woke up yesterday, I came up with this anti-war poem idea. I hope it doesn't offend anyone, but if it does, I hope you accept my apology.

----------------------------------------------------------
John 3:16
For Men so loved freedom, that they gave their only begotten Sons, that whosoever believeth in freedom should not perish, but have everlasting peace.

John 3:17
For Men sent their Sons into battle to condemn evil; and that the world through them might be saved.

John 3:18
They that believeth in conflict is not condemned: but they that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the empire.

John 3:19
And this is the condemnation, that conflict is come into the world, and the unsaved love darkness rather than light, because their superstitions are evil.

John 3:20
For every savage that doeth battle hateth the light, neither cometh into illumination, lest their traditions should be reproved.

John 3:21
But every saved warrior that doeth battle cometh to the light, that their deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

John 3:22
After these things came a General and his deputies into the land of milk and honey; and there he waited with them, and baptized.

John 3:23
And John refused baptizing in the ghetto near his home, because there was much work to be done there: and they came to his door.

John 3:24
And John was cast into prison.

John 3:25
Then there arose a question between John's family and the government about justification.

John 3:26
And the government came unto John, and said unto him, Prisoner, he that was with the military men beyond these walls, to whom thou refused to bare witness, refused to behold, the same that baptizeth, and all 18 year old men come to them.

John 3:27
John answered and said, A man can take nothing of me, except it be given to him willingly, by me.

John 3:28
Ye yourselves bear me witness, what I said, I am not a Soldier, but I was sent before them.

John 3:29
He that hath arms is the Man-at-Arms: but the friend of the Man-at-Arms, which standeth and praiseth him, lessens greatly because of the Soldiers' voices: this my world therefore is fulfilled.

John 3:30
War will decrease, when I increase.

John 3:31
They with stars on their shoulders, that cometh from above are not above all: he that is of the earth is warlike, and destroyer of the earth: those that cometh from generosity are above all.

John 3:32
And what they hath seen and heard, that they testifieth; and every man receiveth this testimony.

John 3:33
Those that hath received this testimony hath set to their seal that love is true.

John 3:34
For they whom were sent speaketh the words of love: for love giveth not the people by measure.

John 3:35
For Father and Mothers loveth their children, and hath given all things into their hands.

John 3:36
Those that believeth in this love shall see peace: and those that believeth not the in this love shall not see life; but the wrath of War abideth on them.

Unaltered Text

3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

3:17
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

3:18
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

3:19
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

3:20
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

3:21
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

3:22
After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

3:23
And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

3:24
For John was not yet cast into prison.

3:25
Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

3:26
And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

3:27
John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

3:28
Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.

3:29
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

3:30
He must increase, but I must decrease.

3:31
He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

3:32
And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

3:33
He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

3:34
For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

3:35
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
