Anya and I caught the "Heroes" marathon on our DVR, and I must say that it's a damn good show. For those of you who don't know, "Heroes" is a show where seemingly normal people discover that they have super powers. Overall, I think that it's quite a good show. It's not quite "LOST" good, not by a long shot, but they deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence.

As good as "Heroes" is, you can tell that the NBC executives greenlit the show in an effort to give their network their own "LOST," a critically acclaimed show with MAJOR geek cred. Because if there's one thing that brings in the dollars, it's those 18-49 year old boys (men?) who never grew up.

Whereas "LOST" has "The LOST Experience," an interactive game to keep fans hungry between episodes/seasons, "Heroes" has an ongoing graphic novel (hoity toity comic book) that furthers along the story that isn't happening on screen.

The show does have some similarities with "LOST." Both are filmed on locations all over the world. Both have large, talented casts. Both deal with past, present, and future events, both seen and unseen. Both shows introduce mystery upon mystery upon mystery upon mystery, with each answer revealed opening up a new mystery upon mystery...

But yeah, enough of the "LOST" comparisons. "Heroes" is yet another show that puts the movie industry to shame. You can really develop characters and plotlines through the course of a season, which would simply be impossible to have in a movie.

So yeah, "Heroes" is a really good (borderline great!) show.
