I just recently finished "Battlestar Galactica: season 1" and am patiently waiting the first discs of season 2 to come to my mailbox courtesy of Netflix.

Overall, I have to say that I'm mighty impressed with "BSG" and can't wait to see what happens. I really like how realistic everything is and how well directed/written/acted all of the episodes are.

If someone were to ask me to make a comparison to other shows/movies, I'd have to say that "BSG" is a heavy dose of "Star Trek," mixed with the dog fights and hot dog pilots of "Star Wars," combined with the New York Times, specifically any story about the Iraq War, and with a taste of Exodus from the Judeo/Christian heritage.

The season started off wonderfully, but then things got a little bogged down for me. I was thinking about quitting the show until the end of the season approached and it finally hit its stride.

If I have one major complaint, it's that I find myself getting HIGHLY annoyed anytme Number 6 and Gaius Baltar have one of their countless scene killing discussions. It's not so much the thematic element of it, but I really can't stand the way she talks. It's ALWAYS the same...that may be the point...It's kinda nerve grating for me.

I love Starbuck and Captain Apollo. I also dig the President and Admiral Adama. Those characters make the show for me.

It's easily one of the best shows on television. I hope to get through all of season 2 and 3 and hope to start watching the episodes live when season 4 starts.
