My Reflection Has a Thousand Faces

He rode on a horse named Silver
and fired a six piece at those stealing gold.
Then he rode on an orange Ram pulled chariot
and flew across lakes with a cape made of stars.
Those stars became real and he blew them up
along with his rebel friends
Rebels with daddy issues.
And those blown up stars blew up nearby planets
forcing a brilliant scientist to save his son
by sending him to a planet with people who needed his help,
but didn't know how to ask for it
Help finding the lost Ark
Help fighting for lost family members in a Chinese sweatshop.
Help playing the card that's wild.
Sometimes he has metal claws.
Sometimes he plugs in.
Sometimes he's a she
a she with beautiful red shoes
and a black dog too
A she who fights cockroaches in space
and trains her son to fight those with red eyes
Sometimes he's a Brit that beds many she's
And sometimes...
I actually entertain the thought that he's running for president.
Now
he's bald and throws knives into smoke.
I'm glad he's out there.
Out there looking after us
those of us with one face
one face hiding a thousand.
