And the words continue. I'm only, oh, 13,000 words behind the NaNoWriMo pace... Ouch. But I got the next 3-5 chapters mapped out. And I'm on chapter Six!!!

“Where is it?” she whispered. She hadn’t turned to him, but Mitch heard her clearly. The sudden wind he’d heard before the pony had leaped in front of the car had died away as quickly as it had blown in.
Ella turned to him. Her eyes were wide, and her hands were shaking. “Where’s the horse?”
Mitch blinked. He’d expected to see a black, four-legged body sprawled across the road next to the car.
"Pony,” he mumbled. Ella looked at him blankly. “It wasn’t a horse. It was one of the wild ponies from the island.”
