Day Nine -- Catching Up...

The words came pretty easily tonight, as the plot thickened and a certain ghost came a-calling, in my best cliffhanger chapter ending so far. This is getting fun. I made up for yesterday's lack of words, and I'm almost back on track, which is nice.

The goal is to hit 50k on the novel wordage by the end of the coming weekend. Right now I'm at 41k, so that should be no problem. So far this month I've written 12,000 words. Cool!

Okay, enough of the numbers. Sheesh.

Not much else to report. Just plugging away at the novel, and have the "Shadow Wolf" story all printed out, ready to go. Just need to read over it one more time.

In related writing news, Elizabeth finished her big-ass paper for grad school, just one of the many big projects she has to finish for her last semester of grad school. It's something like 45 pages, and while I haven't read it, I'm sure it's kick-ass -- she's talked to me about it, and she has some great ideas about using aesthetics in occupational therapy. I'm quite proud of her. She's worked her butt off in the past few months. I know she'll be glad when May 2nd rolls around!

Later!

Today's Quote:
At the top of the lighthouse, he moved closer to Ella, who was staring at another flickering light out in the blackness of the water. This light, like the one at the cemetery, flickered orange at first, and then turned blood red. Mitch let out a gasp. He’d seen this before, he knew, even as the red became a whitish-blue color.

“Teach’s Hole,” he said, his tongue thick and his mouth dry. “Damn. That channel is where Blackbeard died.”

No sooner did Mitch finish his sentence when a loud slam came from the ground below them.

“I thought you shut the door behind us,” Ella whispered.

“I did. And bolted it from the inside,” he said, barely able to breathe.
