4k and downed trees

Yow -- just spent a good chunk of my day working on this story that's been dogging me for quite a while. It's the one about gaming and war and also (from today's writing session) about being alone and what that does to a person. It's been tough sledding, but I think I can see the end in sight.

In other news, Elizabeth and I spent most of the day at my parents' yesterday, helping my parents and little sister cut up two trees that my dad had to cut down in his neighbor's yard, and in between bouts of rain, we had a great time. The burgers and beer afterwards were perfect.

It was really nice to be outside and doing some physical labor. I'd say we cut up about 3 or 4 cords of wood from the two dead trees and the various uncut wood they had left over from last year. Hopefully we won't have to rely on that wood this winter like we did last winter when the power went out in our lovely ice storms...

Hmm -- just realized that I'd almost matched, in one day, my entire wordage from July today. Not bad. Later!
