Because October has 31, and September only 30, for one...

Okay, slight change in plans -- I'm pushing the Novel-Writing Dare back to October. So for those of you who read my prior entry about the September one (which was coming up WAY too fast for my taste!), just slide things back a month. I know you can do it. It's easy to put things off! ;)

I'd totally forgotten to factor in our week in the NC mountains, starting next Friday, in which no writing utensils other than a pen and a notebook wil be brought along. I'm looking forward to our return trip there -- we went to the same place last December (right after I finished up with the paper route and my two other jobs, wahoo!), and it'll be fun to go there when we can actually spend more than half an hour outside and see the grass. Last time was a bit more snowy and cold than I'm sure it is there now. Lots of hiking during the day, followed by a gourmet meal at night, washed down by a bottle of wine. Can't complain with that!

So yeah, if you were shooting for a September date to start your novel, best of luck to ya. I've got too much miscellaneous stuff to finish before then, including this pesky story for the Exquisite Corpuscle antho that I MAY have to start all over from scratch on, again. And then I need to jump back on those novel revisions. And sending the fantasy novel to some more editors and agents (thanks for the tips, Nick!).

And as an added bonus, October has one more day than September. That's a LOT of time (though I'll be spending half of the last day of October in DC, whooping it up with writers and editors and the like for World Fantasy). Now, let's all get cracking on some writing stuff, eh? Later.
