Ah yes, the exciting life of a fiction writer -- up one moment, down the next, up the next few moments, beat down again the next. It's so fun!

Actually, today's a good day. I didn't feel too bummed about the rejection (well, maybe a little bit), and when I came home from work I had ANOTHER delivery waiting on our porch in the darkness.

Inside the box were copies of my first book, Gunning for the Buddha!!!!



It's beautiful. Along with Jamie Bishop's cover, which looks even BETTER in print than on screen, the design of the dust jacket by JT Lindroos is fabulous. The front image is repeated on the back, with borders at the top and bottom and the blurb from James Patrick Kelly in all its glory at the top.

Sweet.

I don't think it's hit me yet. My first book, in my grubby little hands.

Now all I need is for Lizzie to have the baby, and we'll be set. Later!
