Progress Report and Stuff

Still chipping away at the baseball novel revisions, and to my surprise this weekend, I actually accomplished all my various goals, writing-wise. Usually I plan on doing WAY too much and getting annoyed because I only got to half of them or so.

But I got through all of research and incorporated those various nifty tidbits into the book, and I tweaked my synopsis to reflect the new plot points I'd added, and I even got a tiny jump on chapter 8.

Got more done on chapter 8 today, but it's a bit slower because I've gotta read slower -- this chapter marks the spot where I stopped last time, and I've got to change all the 3rd-person stuff to first. Which is actually good, because it forces me to read slower. That way I catch all the times I fall back into synopsizing and rushing through various events instead of slowing down (or cutting!).

Here's the obligatory progress-o-metric:

In other progress news, young mister Drew turned FIVE MONTHS OLD on Saturday. Holy canoli, this kid's growing up too fast. He's already trying to crawl -- we left him on the floor on Sunday for just a minute, and when we came back he'd already rolled and/or scooted his way, Army-style, off his blanket and four feet from where we'd left him. Unbelievable.
