Blog junkies, baby time, dead mice, and yuppiemobiles

Ah, I feel like a new man, breaking free of my LiveJournal addiction. I'm loving the good ol' JournalScape format here, no more clunky interface and cross-posting and constantly checking comments and my friends list...

Sorry -- for people not up on LiveJournal and blog-addictions, please disregard that paragraph.

As usual for a shortened work week, this week has simply DRAGGED. But it's almost Friday, and we have a fun weekend planned and hopefully we'll find time to just sit back and chill out together.

Drew's at the age now where he sleeps all night and even goes to bed early, so it feels like we only get to see him for an hour or two on weekdays -- he's up at 6:30 a.m. or so, then we're off to work by 7:30 or 8, dropping him off with the babysitter, then picking him up at 5:30 or 6 p.m., then he zonks out around 7:30 p.m.

That. Sucks.

I keep trying to keep him awake later and later, but he just won't do it. What's up with that kid, wanting to sleep instead of goof off with his ol' dad?

Me, I've been doing the 4:30 a.m. writing route again, and it's going pretty well -- I finished up a good bit of revising and new content for chapter 13, adding some cool dream sequences and even fleshing out (no pun intended) a romantic scene.

I'm almost 2/3rds of the way there on the baseball novel! Check it out:

Also, thanks to my list of goals set on the first of June, I've gotten motivated to not only send out some queries to my top potential agents, but to also work on the wacky novel blog again! I'm particularly fond of today's entry, as it deals with a funky new form of magic that involves dead mice and broken sticks and more, and all my disparate plotlines begin to come together, slowly. Fun stuff.

Also, I'm gonna password-protect the first chapter of Part Three soon, so read that while you can. As always, you can email me for the ultra-secret password, which lets you read the whole shebang. Try it, you might like it.

And just because, here's the progress-o-matic on Dead Man's Rope:

And it's about time to go. Tonight, Lizzie and I may be going over to a car dealership to look at what might be a great deal on a used car.

I know -- how can I turn my back on the Ford Esquart??? If we get this one, it'll be Lizzie's, because I simply can't let myself drive this kind of car -- it's a yuppiemobile. Yes, that's right, a Beemer. Sorry, can't do it.

If, on the off-chance we actually buy this used BMW, I'll have to drive Lizzie's Highlander, because, you know, there can be only ONE. Later!
