Vigil in Solidarity of Cindy Sheehan

If you happen to be in the Raleigh area on Wednesday night (the 17th), would you be interested in going to a candlelight vigil? There are a bunch of them being held tomorrow night at 7:30 in honor of the mother whose soldier son died in Iraq. It's also in honor of ALL the soldiers who have died in the war. You've probably heard of Cindy Sheehan by now -- she's the lady who is currently down in Crawford, Texas, trying to talk to Mr. Bush while he's on his five-week vacation.

So far, he's been too busy to talk to her.

Elizabeth and I are taking Drew to the closest vigil in Raleigh, which isn't far from Quail Ridge Books on Wade Avenue. We figured we'd get him involved early. This is important to us.

More details are here, at the MoveOn.org Web site.

And here are directions to the vigil (there are many in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area).

At last count, there were 1255 vigils planned across the country. Hopefully these candlelight vigils (they're not protests or demonstrations) will show the people in charge that we care about the soldiers, and we also want this misguided war to end soon.

I hope to see you there Wednesday night. Later...
