Saturday stories

I think my throat has finally recovered from all the yelling I did at the Carolina men's basketball game on Wednesday night. Even though the Tar Heels ended up losing -- they just couldn't catch up to Boston College once they got behind; the team is very YOUNG -- we had a great time at the game.

We had simply amazing seats. Five rows back under the visitor's goal. Wow. We felt like wealthy fat cats sitting there in our borrowed seats along with the "wine and cheese" crowd. Some old lady even had the temerity to yell at me to "Sit down!" toward the end of the game, because I was blocking her view of the game (I was like, "Lady, it's a six-point game, I'm not gonna sit down!" But I sat down anyway).

Getting up the next day was a bit painful, as we got home at one p.m., and I limped my way into the weekend.

And finally, this morning, I finished a first draft of "Drinker," my prequel Wannoshay story. I'm not sure what to think of it yet. I need to let it sit a day or two and come back to it again with a fresh brain. If anyone's interested in giving it a quick look-see, I'd appreciate it -- just let me know.

And now there's a Carolina game this afternoon, plus we have at least one more house showing this afternoon (had two yesterday). Let me tell you, it sucks keeping the house this clean. We've vacuumed more in the past three weeks than we have in the past three years.

Next, some miscellaneous tweaks to first my Wannoshay novel, then the baseball novel, then a final draft of the "Drinker" story, and hopefully in a week or so, back to some new wordage on Sixteen Miles. Later!
