Quite a nice day

Got up at 4:30, got some great work done on the novel revisions. Starting to feel the momentum again, and I'm getting excited about this next chunk of new stuff I get to write.

Took Drew out in his stroller at about 6:45 (he woke up WAY too early, at 6) and we went for a jog. Pushing a 32-pound kid in a 20-pound stroller is a fine workout, even if you're barely going for a mile jog. Drew had a blast, even if it was still mostly dark.

Headed off to work, and finished up the last two drafts of the documents I had to get out today for review. Feelin' good about 'em. Work's been quite good lately.

Had a nice dinner here at home with Lizzie and her parents, along with Drew and our nephew. Chased Drew around the house and made him laugh maniacally before his bath.

Drew wanted to "rocky-rocky" before he went to bed, so I got to rock him in his darkened room. He's a head-rubber, and while he was sucking his thumb all snug on my chest, his hand kept bumping into my chin as we rocked. Finally he said, "Daddy, MOVE. Move chin, Daddy!"

Now, with a half-hour before "Lost" (I'm still giving it a chance, though I know I'll be disappointed, but hey -- it's the only show I watch with any regularity), and I've found five "mainstream" places to send the baseball novel. Sweet. I almost have enough time to print some stuff off. But nah, it's about time to wind down.

A lovely day. Getting some exercise makes all the difference (I also took a nice walk this afternoon and chatted with Lizzie on the phone, which was a great break in a busy day). And it's good to remember these days. These days filled with quiet magic and unspoken bliss. Well, unspoken 'til now...

Later!
