today i went to a lecture at marywood that moz was recording for the tv station he works at, and it was about the italian american experience, which i thought would be interesting. turns out it was (in the words of bender), "mind-numbingly interesting". i did get one good thing out of it though: the girl in front of me was in her early 20s, chin-length brown hair, wearing a cute white winter coat with fur trim on the hood. at one point, she must have gotten cold, cause she put that coat on. only a few minutes later, an older lady (two seats in front of her), possibly 70s, also chin length brown hair, slipped into her tan winter coat with the fur fringe on the hood. i watched the younger girl briefly study the older woman and i was absolutely riveted, wondering what she was thinking. did she see anything? did she see her future? did she look at that older woman with horror or with hope? it was a great moment, and just like that, it was over.
