The week keeps getting stranger...

Wednesday night, I went to see "Night mare Before Christmas" in 3D in an attempt to cheer myself up. The only words that come to mind are "Holy Fucking Shit!"!!! 3D technology has come a long way since 'Jaws 3-d' (1983). It was more like seeing an insane puppetry show than a movie. The Pixar short looked incredible and even the Disney 3D logo at the beginning blew my mind. I was a gape-mouthed 6 year old again.

Thursday morning- a visit from the harbinger of doom. From downstairs, I hear a strange, rhythmic noise coming from my bedroom. I go up, see tht the attic door is open, and find a bird trapped between the bamboo blinds and the window. I closed the doors quickly so it wouldn't get lost in the house and let it out through the window after a decent struggle. When I opened the door, Mark said "You have no idea how funny that was from th eoutside. All I heard was 'rustle rustle, rustle, tweet, giggle giggle' repeated over and over."

Friday night, wtf? Now, I have only been sleeping like 3 hours tops each night this week, so I'll admit my brain is a bit hinky, but this really took the cake. It was a strange day, weatherwise, to begin with - December 1 and 70 degrees out, which then turned to rain and 60mph winds. 3 am Duke needs to go out. As I stood on my back porch, my socks soaking up the rain from the carpet, I was struck dumb. I seriously had to stand there for a full minute trying to make sense of what I was seeing. I finally formed the thought, "Is that a boat in my yard?" And it was. The storm apparantly blew my neighbors fishing boat over their fence and into my yard.

The lack of sleep has been making everything just a bit off, but the bird and the boat really didn't help. Dreams of zombies and vampires in thrift stores in the sleep that I did get made things only more surreal. I think I'm going to spend today drinking lots of water and sleeping in an attempt at resetting myself.
