No more pity parties, no more tears, just constant thrumming, happy anticipation. We can be both vulnerable and honest together. The slow revelation of secrets is magical. When he falls asleep next to me at the movies, I don't let on that I know. When I drink on an empty stomach and pass out, he stays with me all night out of worry. He doesn't make fun of my theories about the wonderful forces of the universe. He laughs when I tell him that his employed status and ability to fix cars make him an exotic treat for me. I respect him. He takes care of all his responsibilities and still finds time to be sweet and considerate. He brings me dinner at work and tells me how good my hair smells. His wheezy giggly laugh makes my whole day better. He says the word "Sigh" when we're all snuggled up and he's content. He doesn't get embarassed when I throw my arms around him and kiss him all over his face every time I see him. I only have eyes for him because he deserves someone good. He loves his dog. He eats as much chicken as I do. He's fun. He's smart and we teach each other new things evry time we talk. He's got an absolutely disgusting sense of humor. We have saved each other. What an amazing and unexpected surprise he is.
