Karmic account- correspondant from Minessota

My review of our correspondance so far makes me ask, why put the emphasis on the pawns? I wrote something back in the 80's that tried to get to the point that EVERYONE suffers from the current system, and putting too much of an emphasis on status or power as excuse for "othering" the holders of status and power makes it easy for the self-perceived powerless or statusless to avoid examining their own opportunities and shortcomings.

So...using the analogy or context of the Chessboard (which is valid) the question becomes how do you relieve ALL the pieces of the dysfunctional polarizations and alienations that have beset them since the "game" was construed? I.e. what in fact is the context for the chess game in question, and how much control do we really have over it? There is a flip side to karma, perhaps a nidra yoga viewpoint, that permits one to fully exploit the limits of one's game role, instead of second-guessing the game context, since we are only passing through this lifetime and will eventually be in all the roles. It is repugnant to the sensitive soul to consider that mass murderers and child abusers will eventually be reincarnated as nurses aides and garbage toters serving at the behest of others, but it is also pertinant to think that "liberating" someone in an onerous position might be interfering with their balancing their karmic account from some heinous role in the past. I don't fully believe this, or should I say I don't believe it literally. And I don't certainly think it excuses cruelty, injustice, etc. But it is a viewpoint that needs to be raised in your exploration of roles, rules, boards, games, and finite durations.

Well, I see on closer examination that you are looking out for the other roles. And you are also doing something specifically in the realm of chess players, which is wonderful. I look forward to following your project.

Good luck!
