A Patriot's View

Would you perceive Thomas Jefferson as a patriot?

Here's what he wrote: ...whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends [our unalienable rights], it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government....

Is this an acceptable point of view today? Or are we so thought-controlled and speech curtailed that we do not dare speak of change in the government.

But, wait! There is the works a proposal for a constitutional amendment to allow a naturalized citizen to become president of the United States. So change is OK when it serves the agenda of certain political group or a religious bloc. Pardon me. But not when people of independent minds call for change in unapproved areas, such as doing away with the Electoral College.

Silly me. It's so obvious. Correct Speak is here. George Orwell was off by 20 years.
