I always say I'm going to get up at 5 a.m. on weekend mornings when we're expecting triple digit temperatures by middaty, but I've never been able to get up earlier than 6:30. Today, however, I was up and bustling about at 4:45.

By 10 o'clock I had washed the car, shopped for groceries, done two loads of laundry, done house cleaning, watered in front and in back and the indoor plants and stopped by the credit union to deposit some checks. Oh yes and did I mention I sat down and paid the bills that have to be sent via snail mail?

It was a most productive morning, followed by lunch and a nap and then more household chores and setting up meds for the week to come.

I have that feeling of satisfaction that comes when I've done what I set out to do. Now I can read for an hour or so in the cool cool cool of the evening before turning in for the night.

Tomorrow will be another hot one.
