It's all Dan Gent's fault. The weather, I mean.

You see, we had predictions for a monster storm, with an interim of light rain, and then another day of heavy weather.

Dan Gent went out and bought Wellies. Very fine Wellies they are, too.

What we got was a couple of days of very gentle, moderate rain (just what we needed) instead of the much-feared monster storm which had provoked evacuations in the canyons and home owners' use of sand bags to divert water into flood channels and away from low-lying areas.

So here we sit, moderately well-watered and not at all astonished, thanks to Mr. Gent.
