Aaaaah! Coffee!

I got up just as the sky was getting light enough to see and watered everything, front and back. I usually tell myself I'm going to do that, and then, when it's 5 a.m., I just roll over and grab a pillow and go back to sleep.

But this morning I bethought myself of how hot it was yesterday, and humid, and how it hadn't cooled off until 2 a.m. to about 75 or so. That did it. The poor plants are enduring high temps of 106, the least I could do is water them and sympathize.

Fed the cats first, of course. I can't put a foot on the floor but what a cat is yowling about starvation and deprivation. Or whatever it is. All 8 pounds of her puts quite a punch into the decibels, I tell you.

Then coffee on to brew while stepping outside to water. The tender garden vegetables are dying in this weather--that's to be expected--but I water them to keep them going for the last bit of harvest.

Fill the cats' and possum's water bowl, put down cat chow and back inside for a well-earned cup of coffee, handful of nuts, a bit of hard cheese for breakfast.

Saturday is so predictable; I could just type out my schedule and let a robot do it. Ah, well, a little quiet time with the computer, then off to Trader Joe's and then the VA.

Keep the people facing hurricane weather in your thoughts.
