Spent most of the day at church, preparing for tomorrow's luncheon/dinner after the service. We have enough to serve 80 people, though I think that number may be optimistic, given that the Weather Service (all bow down to the East), puts the rain prediction at 90%. Lots of people will stay home.

Still, though, those who do come will have a fantastic spread: salad made from greens and lettuce grown in our own children's church garden, lasagne, garlic bread (if everyone partakes, no one is offended) and fruit for dessert. If I know the church ladies, there will be other less healthy, but outrageously delicious desserts as well.

By 3 p.m. this afternoon, we were done with rolling out and setting up tables, making place settings ready to be put out, flowers in vases, salad washed and in pieces, ready to be assembled. We were done, definitely. After cleaning up the kitchen, everyone went home and collapsed.

One of my friends just called me and said that when she walked in the door after working in the church kitchen all day, she was greeted by cries of, "What's for dinner?"

She was quite proud of the fact that she did not bite anyone's head off, but instead replied with, "Whatever you make is what we're having for dinner." She expects pizza to appear shortly.

So another day has zoomed by, busy and productive. I'm ready for a bit of quiet reading; how about you?
