Here in southern California, a rainstorm at the end of March is very unusual. Strike that. Used to be very unusual. Since unusual weather now seems to be the norm, who knows what to expect?

We have planned a churchwide luncheon for today (Free food! Y'all come!), which is to be held partly indoors and partly on the patio (drinks and hors d'oeuvres outside). B has just left to go over to the church to do some last minute reorganization. She's as anxious as a cat eyeing the bath tub.

I'm responsible for the salads for 80 people, but at least I'm not trying to cope with the rain, just with all the people who will want to stand around in the kitchen, chatting, because it's too wet to go outside.
