A Muslim cleric's fatwa has declared that female babies should wear burkas, to protect them from being molested.

It contradicts the traditional treatment of infants and children by assigning sex roles (and social strictures) early in life. Most societies treat babies in the first few years of life as just babies, without requiring behavior and attitudes specific to gender.

To my mind that cleric's declaration says volumes about his beliefs about men's self control and women's behavior.
